Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and refinishing various types of flooring materials, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas.
• Install a variety of flooring types, including hardwood, laminate, hybrid, and parquet.
• Prepare surfaces by removing old flooring, leveling, grinding, and applying moisture barriers.
• Ensure proper alignment and adherence of flooring materials, using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Repair or replace damaged flooring as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide professional recommendations.
• Collaborate with team members and other contractors to complete projects on time.
• Maintain a student mindset—always willing to learn, regardless of experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in flooring or proven experience as a floor layer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of flooring materials, installation techniques, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret working drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications or training in flooring installation (preferred).

Working Conditions

• Work may be performed in various settings, including residential and commercial properties, generally in high-end residential homes.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.
• Flexibility to work varying hours, including overtime or weekends when needed.
